Transitions in the age of biomedical AI

FREIBURG | GERMANY

27.09. - 01.10.26

Welcome to Freiburg

The rise of AI techniques and the increased public awareness of the value of data present great opportunities to data science disciplines. In particular, medical data sciences, as represented by the GMDS, and application fields such as novel treatment paradigms in medicine, which are hotly debated at ISCB, promise great impact of methodological developments, including transitions in research paradigms. This can optimally be achieved jointly with other disciplines, in particular mathematics, computer science, and also close collaboration with biomedical researchers — as exemplary reflected in the Freiburg CRC Small Data.

The ISCB GMDS 2026 Conference, together with the CRC Small Data Symposium, will provide a scientific platform for exchange on these exciting novel developments and discussing how our disciplines master the corresponding transitions.
